Frenchmen
show
their "Living History"
Primitive forms of art in strong lines is what is seen at the
exposition of Ideorealism paintings and drawings of Yannig
Guillevic and Yvonnig Jacquier, called "Living History", since this
passed Thursday in the Gallery of Arts and Sciences at the
University of Sonora.
The correct dimension of strokes, in quick lines - some of
intense color - give an idea of the mental preparation of the
painters in making a canvas with a great pictorial cleanness.
Brought to Hermosillo by the French Alliance, the paintings go back
to times where the elementary was the essential thing in art. Some
characteristics of western culture and plain graphics are mixed in
a modern conceptual framework yet they show something of the
primitive in the painting. Yannig Guillevic commented that in these
images is seen how the theory of true art never precedes the
practice, and that each image denotes a principle of the
Ideorealism movement.
"Ideorealism wants to put in triptych, liberty, referring to the
real and the material, united in the center of the thematic to have
power in history", he added. He indicated that this movement is fed
by the wealth of the figurative, of the teaching of the ancestors,
and at the same time is enriched by the material, such that it is
enriched by many things that can be artistic movements and creative
acts.
The Frenchmen told that his technique was an accident of the
shop that arose in a winter where all the liquids froze until
forming a very strong extract made of a product of nutmeg that is
utilize by engravers. Their works are neither drawings nor
paintings. Rather they are a mixture of both. Yannig Guillevic said
that the wisdom of the people of Hermosillo is very vast due the
fact that all the people ask many questions and are interested in
the unknown. "Here the people are very curious. We did not know why
this city had been chosen to do the exposition, and later we
realized that the anxiety of knowing is immense", said the French
artist.
The exhibition "Living History" contains 60 works and will be
open to the public from November 23rd to December 8th, where
Ideorealism is "a Dream that finishes well...".
